Planning a wedding can come with so many ups and downs. Every bride wants their wedding day to be perfect. It's is only going to happen once. Here is a checklist for those who are getting married soon.
This is probably one of the most important questions, this will determine the type of wedding you are going to have. Be realistic and don't burden yourself with too much. Think about what's important to you? Do you want a big family wedding or do you want only close friends and family to be present. Remember this is your day.
Choosing your venue will be determined by the type of wedding and style you want to go for. Maybe you want a farm style rustic wedding or classic wedding with lots of flowers and candles. Bloemfontein has so many venues to choose from. Including some of my favorites is De Oude Kraal, Montebello, Warm Karoo and The Kings Haven.
Once you have booked a venue you have to start thinking about a photographer. Look around and see what type of style photography you like. Have a look at their websites and facebook profiles and get to know the photographer a bit. Read their reviews. Remember you are going to spend a lot of time with them. I always include a engagement session with all my packages as it is important for me to get to know the couple and make them feel comfortable while taking photographs.
There are so many people you have met along the way. You may have a big family or a smaller family. I always advise couples to ask themselves: "Has this person shown any interest in your life for the last year? If not then take them off the list.Remember half your wedding expenses go to wining and dining your guests. Invite the people that are really important and special to you.
5. Save the date & Invitations
Once you have set a date you can now start thinking about invitations. Sending out a save the date can be sent out 6-8 months ahead of time. This gives everyone more than enough time to plan and make traveling and accommodation arrangements. Formal invitations can be sent out closer to the date.
